Dundee Presbyterian Church celebrated their 115th Anniversary in 2016, in commemoration I was commissioned to do a piece of art representing the beautiful sanctuary. This was a unique challenge but one I was honored to do. Referencing photographs, I worked on each beautiful detail of the church, and using my intricate cut paper technique.

To connect the church’s past to the present I included a long time member of the church, Florence Young, standing in the back of the church, as a child. Florence belonged to the church all of her life, until she passed away a few years ago at age 107. I felt her presence in the composition helped tell the story of the long history of the church.

I presented the art during a special reception, a History Tea, speaking to the church members, explaining my process and the inspiration behind the art I created.
